Évian Report on G7 Commitments for Development and International Partnerships

Published October 16, 2026

Published on 16 October 2026, the Évian report presents the progress made by the G7 members in implementing their development and international partnerships commitments.

Through the tracking of the G7 countries’ development commitments, the Évian report highlights the new G7 approach to development, endorsed by the Heads of State and Government of the G7 countries at the Évian Summit from 15 to 17 June 2026.

It recalls the priorities of this approach:

A third of development assistance is targeted at countries affected by conflicts

The report looks at the essential role of the G7 in international solidarity with the most vulnerable people, in a context marked by increasing numbers of crises. In 2024, 19% of G7 official development assistance went to the least developed countries, and 34% went to countries affected by conflicts.

Food security remains a priority. Between 2018 and 2024, the G7 members dedicated between $4 and $6 billion per year to emergency food aid.

Better private capital mobilization

The report also highlights theleading role of the G7 in mobilizing development financing and in consolidating sustainable economic partnerships, including in Africa. In 2024, the G7’s efforts helped raise $20.83 billion in private capital for development assistance projects.

Sustainable infrastructure, central to G7 investment in Africa

The G7 countries support the development of sustainable infrastructure in Africa, dedicating 47% of their investments in this sector to green infrastructure.

Progress in disaster prevention thanks to G7 support

Lastly, the report highlights progress made in preventing climate disasters. Thanks notably to the G7’s support for the CREWS (Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems) initiative, the number of countries with early warning systems has doubled since 2015, helping to better anticipate risks and protect communities.

From 2000 to 2019, a total of 7,348 major climate disasters were recorded. They caused 1.23 million casualties and affected 4.2 billion people. In poor and vulnerable countries, weather data to help anticipate these phenomena and warn people are often unreliable or totally lacking.

The G7 needs to continue implementing the new approach fostering mutually beneficial partnerships. The Évian report takes stock of the progress that has been and that remains to be made in the coming years.

Since 2009, the G7 has been reporting annually on development, in reports on all or some of the commitments its members have made. The Évian report, drawn up by the G7 Accountability Working Group, is part of this transparency and visibility effort. For the first time, this year’s report incorporates contributions from partner countries (Republic of Korea, Kenya) and several G7 engagement groups (Think 7, Civil 7, Youth 7, Women 7, Foundation 7), in order to offer more diverse perspectives.
