At the 2015 Elmau Summit, G7 leaders asked "the G7 Ambassadors in Kiev to establish a Ukraine support group. Its task will be to advance Ukraine´s economic reform process through coordinated advice and assistance." Below are many of their statements. In January 2018, the G7 presidency created a Twitter account for the G7 ambassadors at @G7AmbReformUA, where they frequently post statements and other information.

June 25, 2015: G7 Ambassadors' Support Group for Ukraine meets with Ukrainian prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk
"On June 25, the G7 ambassadors' Support Group for Ukraine, including the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk. In particular, the issues of energy security were discussed during the meeting. The Prime Minister also emphasized that the Government of Ukraine highly appreciates the support of the Group of Seven in the Ukraine's fight for its independence and territorial integrity." October 23, 2015: G7 ambassadors meet with the president of Ukraine
"On October 23, 2015 Ambassador Sumi took part in the G7 Ukraine support group Ambassadorial meeting with the President of Ukraine, at the premises of the President's Administration. The meeting lasted nearly three hours, during which participants discussed a wide range of issues regarding Ukraine's diplomacy and domestic policy. The G7 Ambassadors' Ukraine support group was established as a result of the G7 Summit which took place in June of last year in Elmau, Germany. January 13, 2016: G7 Ambassadors' Support Group for Ukraine meet under Japan's G7 presidency
"On January 13, 2016 the first meeting of the ambassadors of the G7 Ukraine Support Group was held at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine, Shigeki Sumi. Since January 1, 2016 Japan is the G7 chair and will host the Summit of the Group of Seven (Ise-Shima Summit) on May 26-27, 2016. Meanwhile in Kyiv, Ambassador Sumi will chair the G7 Ambassadorial meetings to ensure support for Ukrainian internal reforms. Additionally, Mr. Hajime Hayashi, Director-General of European Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, participated in this first meeting while on a business trip in Kyiv." January 29, 2016: G7 Ambassadors meet with Ukrainian high officials to discuss anticorruption
"On January 29th, G7 ambassadors had a meeting with Ukrainian high officials dealing with anti-corruption in various sectors. During the meeting, the progress of anti-corruption institution reform was discussed. G7 ambassadors reiterated their strong commitment to continuously support the efforts of the Ukrainian government for early implementation of anti-corruption reforms and establishment of independent transparent and strong anti-corruption system."
