Press Statement by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on the G7+ Foreign Ministers' Meeting Regarding Emergency Aid for Ukraine

Press release, November 29, 2022

In light of the ruthless Russian attacks against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, in particular energy and water facilities, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock as current Chair of the G7 Foreign Ministers invited a wider G7+ group to discuss joint efforts to provide emergency support to Ukraine in this crucial moment. Participants were more than 20 Foreign Ministers, including the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the NATO Secretary General, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank.

United in their commitment to support Ukraine, the participants discussed the situation of critical energy infrastructure in Ukraine in order to better understand and prioritize the most urgent needs of the Ukrainian people and to coordinate assistance efforts. Foreign Minister Baerbock underlined the importance of the meeting on the way toward the International Conference on the Civilian Resilience of Ukraine on 13 December in Paris.
