• Sustaining Afghanistan’s Economic Development Amidst Transition
  • Discussions
  • How Afghanistan will come out of its war economy into a civilian economy
  • Afghanistan needs from the international community to create and sustain its civilian economy
  • How much financial assistance and other measures each G8 country will pledge to support Afghanistan’s economic development during the transformation decade
  • Plans and prospects for the broad Afghanistan pledging conference in Tokyo in July
  • Outcomes
  • To leave Afghanistan with a degree of stability based on economic development, whereby international security and G8 interests are not threatened
  • Adopt a comprehensive approach to ensure a solid political transition in Afghanistan
  • Continue financially supporting the development and expansion of Afghanistan’s economic development and political process
