G7 Finance Ministers Meeting, London, February 9, 2006

The G7 Finance Ministers met in London on February 9 without Russia, before heading to Moscow on February 10, 2006.[1]

G8 Finance Ministers Meeting I, Moscow, February 10-11, 2006

The G8 Finance Ministers, along with Paul Wolfowitz, President of the World Bank and representatives from South Africa, India, China and Brazil met at the National Hotel in Moscow. The Finance Ministers released a signed communiquŽ detailing their discussions.

G7 Finance Ministers Meeting II, Washington: April, 2006

On February 13, 2006, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin stated that the G8 Finance Ministers will meet in April to discuss a pilot project aimed at combatting infectious diseases, particularly those that affect Africa.[2] Kudrin stated that funds have already been allocated for this purpose.[3] Specifically, Kudrin stated that: "In April, at the meeting of finance ministers, a pilot project will be probably determined, into which money will go first of all in order to make a breakthrough in the liquidation of one of diseases - I shall not specify which, especially in Africa, where such diseases claim millions of lives."[4]

In Washington on January 18, 2006, top US Treasury official, Tim Adams stated that the United States will host a G7 meeting in Washington in April, 2006, and that the administration was considering inviting China, India and Brazil to attend.[5]

G8 Finance Ministers Meeting III, St. Petersburg: June, 2006

On January 18, 2006, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin stated that the second meeting of the G8 Finance Ministers will be held in June, 2006 in St. Petersburg.[6]
